Every great event starts with a conversation.
At the beginning of 2026, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) approached Orangeworks to create a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity that would give back to the Milton Keynes community. Go behind the build and see how the project came together from start to finish.
Finding the Perfect Fit
Together, ICAEW and Orangeworks identified the Charity Bike Build as the perfect fit. It combined teamwork with a practical outcome, ensuring every bike built would go to someone who needed it.
It wasn’t just about building bikes. It was about making sure every one found the right home.
Months of Planning Behind the Scenes
The success of the event began long before delegates arrived.
Over several months, the Orangeworks Events team worked with ICAEW and local organisations to understand exactly what was needed.
Rather than sourcing 25 standard bikes, specialist adapted bikes were also included for recipients with additional mobility needs, ensuring every donation met a requirement.
Bringing the Project to Life
On the 16th of June 2026, after months of planning came together at Whittlebury Park, Milton Keynes
A total of 175 ICAEW delegates worked in teams to assemble, check and prepare 25 bikes, ready for their new owners.
Throughout the afternoon, the room was filled with conversation, problem-solving and plenty of teamwork as each bike came together.
Delivering the Difference
Once completed the bikes were donated to five organisations across Milton Keynes including:
- Cycle Saviours – Milton Keynes
- Bikeability Schools
- Campbell Park Parish Council
- Wheels for Wellbeing
- Camphill MK Communities
Seeing the completed bikes arrive at their new homes was a fitting end to months of planning and preparation.

The Outcome
From the first planning meeting to the final bike delivery, this project demonstrated what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared goal.
Twenty-five bikes found new homes across Milton Keynes, while 175 delegates played a part in making it happen.
