Creating a Team Orchestra at St George’s Hall
On 21st February 2018, Orangeworks delivered one of our favourite music-based team building experiences, Orchestrate! At St. Georges Hall in Liverpool for 290 delegates.
The team wanted a team building activity that would be fun and entertaining but that would enable them to try something they had never tried before and develop some new skills. The overall objective for this event was for employees from different departments to get to know one another and bond during the activity. After receiving the team’s brief, we knew that Orchestrate! was a perfect fit for their wants and needs.
St. Georges Hall was an excellent venue for Orchestrate! as it was a large space with an area for the grand finale.
Participants chose an instrument – strings, woodwind, brass or percussion and then worked in separate sections under the guidance of our expert musicians to learn the basics of their instrument. Once delegates were skilled in playing their instruments, they then came together as one mighty orchestra to play under the baton of the conductor.
The team played a specially-written piece of music, which created a magnificent atmosphere of achievement and emotion throughout the room. Individuals came together to create an outstanding performance, a demonstration of what could be achieved as a team. Delegates were shocked and stated, ‘it was an experience that they would remember forever’. Overall, the team achieved their objective by working together as one and getting to know each other outside of the typical work environment.
Participants left the event feeling completely refreshed and feeling completely positive as a team. Orchestrate! is the perfect example of working as a team, this truly moving event leaves teams with an unforgettable experience. This experience enables individuals to gain new skills and shows teams what they can achieve when they work together towards a common goal.
